The Drum has learned that Hari Farzin, head of marketing at Scottish Television is to depart next week.

Farzin, who was appointed to the role in July 08, has decided to leave the broadcaster in order to travel around South America.

Farzin joined the company in 2006 as e-commerce manager, working alongside Gordon Brown, its then head of marketing who she succeeded last year.

A spokesperson for STV explained that David Brook, interim director of marketing and programmes who would originally brought in on a consultancy basis has had his term extended as a result and will now work with STV for the rest of 2009.

He has been tasked with aiding the development of the STV brand both on-air and online and will lead its opt-out strategy as it looks to take greater control of its schedule and move away from ITV produced content.

Brook will also work with STV Ventures in providing marketing guidance for the company’s digital strategy.
