Jono Brain, the technical director of Love, will leave the agency at the end of April to pursue 'his own venture'.

Brain has been at Love for two years and was part of the team that launched the agency's digital operation.

According to his blog, Brain's new service will offer frontend and backend website development, information architecture and will look "to take entire web projects from companies maybe without the technical capability, possibly lack of internal resource or looking to save some money".

In an official statement, Brain and Love insisted he had left the agency with its full support.

A spokesperson for Love said: "Jono’s main objective, along with other key members of the digital team, was to help launch Love’s digital operation which has now been successfully achieved with outstanding results.

"We will be recruiting on the digital side and will be releasing a brief in the coming months once Jono has left.”

The agency added that it will continue to work with Brain on "special projects" once he leaves.

Brain said: "I was taken on at Love to set up the digital team and I now feel I have done what I set out to do and that is why I'm moving on.

"The digital offering at Love is now thriving and has been a real success story and I'm really proud of what myself and the rest of the guys have achieved."

Brain's departure is not related to the news last week that the Manchester agency is to make three staff redundant.
