The Scottish Government has collaborated with Mediacom Edinburgh and Kinetic to create a campaign at Edinburgh and Glasgow rail stations in support of its Go Greener campaign.

3-D chalk creatives measuring 3 metres by 3 metres will be drawn on the floor of both stations to highlight the cost – both monetary and environmental – of food wastage in Scotland.

The drawings will show the Scottish Government’s campaign character Mr Earth urging people to use food thoughtfully rather than throw it away, explaining that not only does this cost Scottish households an average £410 per year, it also gives the Earth “terrible gas”.

Go Greener brand ambassadors will be at hand on the station with simple tips to avoid wasting food, which can help people save both money and reduce the environmental impact.

Creative designs were developed by Newhaven and produced by Madmedia artists. The campaign also includes Titan Transvisions at Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central stations and 16 T4 adbarriers at Waverley which run through the week commencing 2 March.

To widen the reach of the public support a 4-week long Scotland-wide large format outdoor campaign and radio and online activity has been planned by MediaCom Edinburgh to run concurrently.
