Newly established Edinburgh based media planning and buying agency North Star Advertising has picked up the Belhaven Best Ale account, thought to be worth £300k.

The agency, set up by former MediaVision director Nick Stewart, along with two founder partners, Barry Fearn and Peter Donaldson, has won a three way pitch against incumbents Feather Brooksbank, and Spirit Media.

Stewart, MD of North Star, commented: “This is a massive coup for the agency and is exactly the kind of blue-chip brand we wanted to attract when we set up.”

Euan Venters, managing director of Belhaven Group, said: “We were very impressed with North Star’s insight, thinking and understanding of the brand objectives, and positioning, and how this could be translated into a cohesive media strategy.”

As a result of this win, North Star says it now has total billings of over £2m.
