MediaCom has announced that it has promoted two senior members of staff to head up its Scottish and Irish offices.

David Shearer has been promoted to managing director of its Scottish office while Andrew Dunn will head up the Irish operation.

Shearer has been deputy managing director at Mediacom Scotland for over eight years and takes on the role from Euan Jarvie who will be moving to a new global development role reporting to the Worldwide CEO and chairman at Mediacom, Stephen Allan. As a result Jarvie will now be based in London.

Shearer has been working alongside Euan Jarvie over the past 12 months to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted management handover. He will now work with his new management team in Edinburgh which is in the process of making some account management changes.

Dunn has played a role in establishing MediaCom Ireland since it was launched in June of last year.

Jane Ratcliffe, chief executive of MediaCom UK, said: “Both David and Andrew are well respected members of the MediaCom management team. David’s appointment follows eight years of hard work growing the MediaCom Scotland brand alongside Euan and I am sure that hew will continue to build on this success. Andrew, who has also spent time at MediaCom Scotland, is absolutely aligned to the Mediacom product and that commitment combined with his unparalleled understanding of the Irish marketplace has allowed the new MediaCom Dublin office to have an outstanding first six months which I am sure will continue.”

Euan Jarvie commented: “On a personal note I am extremely proud of what we have achieved in Edinburgh and would be delighted to hand control of the business I started 11 years ago to David as I know he is the right man for the job. Likewise I am convinced that Dublin will thrive under Andrew’s Leadership.”
