Nora Senior, managing director of Weber Shandwick’s Scottish PR operations has been appointed as chairman of UK regions and Ireland for the company.

Senior will be handed a wider management role in the company’s European business and will join the Europe, Middle East and African management team where she will combine her new role with her existing responsibility as managing director Weber Shandwick Scotland.

Under her broader UK and European remit, Senior will become responsible for business development and collaboration, marketing, HR and training and development.

Senior commented: “I am delighted to take on the challenge of working in a wider UK and European role. It is a great reflection on the excellence of our business operations and management in Scotland as a whole that this experience can be a positive influence on a wider European platform.

“I believe the promotion underpins Weber Shandwick’s philosophy that there are no ‘glass ceiling’ barriers to achievement and that being involved in running a European business does not have to be done from London.”

The news follows last weeks announcement that Jo Leah, managing director of the company's Manchester office had been appointed to its worldwide board.

The company has eight offices in the UK with a staff of over 380 and 22 offices throughout Europe.
