Nottingham-based BCS PR has been appointed by The Caribbean Food Company to introduce its range of Caribbean Ready Meals to consumers.

The products first gained exposure when owners Mark and Elina Davis appeared on the BBC Two show Dragons’ Den, attracting a joint investment offer of £100,000. Since then the meals have been snapped up by supermarket giant ASDA and are currently being rolled out across the UK.

BCS PR picked up the brief to help increase awareness of Caribbean cuisine and promote Mark and Elina’s meals as a viable alternative to Indian and Chinese dishes.

Leading the campaign, account director Trevor Palmer said: “This is an exciting account for us and is the latest edition to BCS PR’s expanding food and restaurant client portfolio.

“We are leading a media campaign on both a national and regional level to give consumers a taste for Caribbean food and position Mark and Elina as culinary experts.”

Mark Davis, owner of the Caribbean Food Company added: “After Dragons’ Den we had to ensure that our profile remained high and we felt that BCS PR had the ideas, experience and drive to do that for us. We are already seeing fantastic results, with increased sales and talks with other major supermarkets in the pipeline.”
