Tangerine PR has been briefed by the Greater Manchester Sport Partnership to help get more people in the region active in sport.

The agency will work with GreaterSport in a bid to raise awareness of local initiatives aimed at making sport accessible to everyone in each of the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester.

Jonny Cowan, assistant CEO of GreaterSport, said: "With obesity and health problems on the rise, we all need to take a look at what exercise we do. We’ll be breaking social barriers and encouraging people that haven’t been active for a long time to try new sports.”

According to Sarah Halton, director at Tangerine, only 20 percent of people over 16 in Greater Manchester are doing the recommended amount of sport - three 30 minute spells a week.
