Golley Slater to manage PR for Smarter Choices campaign

Smarter Choices has appointed Golley Slater North East following a competitive pitch to handle PR for its forthcoming campaign aimed at reducing congestion in Tyne and Wear.

Due to be launched in the spring, the campaign will encourage commuters across the region to use sustainable modes of transport by highlighting not only congestion problems, but also consquential benefits such as public health, social inclusion and air quality improvement.

Laura Fitzpatrick, marketing officer at Smarter Choices, said: "Changing the general public’s day to day behaviour is a gradual process and we were looking for an agency who fully understood the challenge ahead."

Sue Reay, senior account director at Golley Slater North East, added: "We’re very much looking forward to working closely with the Smarter Choices team to build awareness of the campaign, encouraging the local community to get actively involved and to make Tyne & Wear one of the leading areas when it comes to using more sustainable modes of transport.”
