Edinburgh communications agency Design Links has been appointed to three new contracts: British Gas, Leeds University and energy company Sturrock Power.

The agency was invited by British Gas to pitch for the creation of an internal brand to improve staff performance.

Work on internal signage and creating staff areas has already started; the first areas will be finished later this month. Work with staff involving motivational speaking and language will follow on from this.

Design Links has also just won new work with Leeds University, delivering new communications in partnership with the management, staff and the student union. The agency has been tasked with helping the university to communicate with potential applicants using techniques such as film and social networking, aiming to position it as a first choice in the UK and internationally.

The website, created by Design Links, has been launched and the agency has now been tasked with tailoring the site over the coming months, working with all interest groups, making the university’s offer more targeted and relevant. The agency also has a brief to help in the further development of the university’s alumni relations.

The Leeds pitch was built on the agency's work for the University of Edinburgh, which used a humour-based ‘Good Neighbours’ campaign to bridge the gap between university students and local people.

Energy company Sturrock Power has commissioned the agency to review its marketing, starting this month. The agency’s pitch was based on motivating staff and creating higher levels of performance and participation – as it has done in companies such as BSkyB. The first work will be delivered at the end of this month.
