Following a competitive pitch, Euro RSCG has picked up another creative account for car manufacturer Peugeot, beating incumbent McCann Erickson Manchester in a six way pitch.

The account is for Peugeot’s dealership network and will see the company consolidate the creative account into the London based agency which already holds the £30million advertising account.

Following the appointment the agency will now work with its dealership network of around 300 locations.

McCanns held the account for ten years having retained it after a pitch held in 2004 but will continue to run the media buying and PR accounts that it also holds.

Peugeot is also currently pitching the integrated account for its fleet division estimated to be worth £1m.

A spokesperson for McCann's Manchester, told The Drum: “We can confirm that Peugeot’s UK dealer marketing business has been awarded to Peugeot’s brand agency Euro RSCG following a competitive review process. It is disappointing to start the new year with a business loss, especially when you consider this is a piece of business we have retained for more than 24 years. We have however recently secured a number of significant wins which put us in a strong position for the year ahead.

They continued: “For the record McCann retains both the media buying and planning and PR business for Peugeot’s UK dealer marketing operation.

“At this stage it is too early to say whether the loss will have any impact in terms of possible redundancies”
