Ofcom makes new appointments to Advisory Committee for Scotland

Ofcom has announced the appointment of two new members to its Advistory Committee for Scotland which it has also reappointed an existing member.

Mairi Macleod who works with charity Deaf Connections and Franck Chevalier, lead consultant for Analysys Mason Ltd, have been appointed to the committee while former chair Thomas Prag has been reappointed.

Prag will be replaced as chair by Philip Schlesinger, professor of cultural policy at Glasgow University.

All appointments will begin on 1 January 2009.

Vicki Nash, director, Ofcom Scotland said: “The Advisory Committee plays an important role in advising Ofcom on communications matters that affect Scotland. Communications in Scotland are undergoing huge change with digital switchover having already begun in the Borders. Mairi and Franck’s skills complement those of other members of the Advisory Committee, which will continue to provide Ofcom with advice on key issues for Scottish consumers and citizens”.
