Regional media sales agency Amra has opened a Scottish office which will be run by Margaret Scott who formerly headed up Scottish & Universal Newspapers' Scottish sales team.

Scott will be the sales manager of the Scottish agency which will see all of Trinity Mirror’s regional products being brought under the Amra banner for Scotland.

The office will also represent the company’s independent titles which Amra represents in England. These include the Midland News Association, Irish News, Isle of Wight County Press. Berkshire Regional Newspapers, Tindle North and South London and Yellow Advertising group.

As a result of the move, Amra Scotland will represent the full Amra portfolio of 270 newspapers and 300 websites.

Lorna Jamieson will act as account manager in Scotland, based at the S&UN’s offices in Hamilton.

Gary McNish, managing director of Amra, said: "Amra Scotland will offer agencies the opportunity to deal with Margaret and Lorna as they have always done previously and clients will know that they will get the same quality of service.

"However, now they can also deal with them for the whole of the Amra portfolio, so we are effectively offering this one-stop shop but with the same people they have been used to doing business with for the past few years.

"This will make Amra titles easier for the Scottish media industry to plan, buy and deal with".

Alex Cargill, managing director of Scottish & Universal Newspapers, said: "This is a natural extension of the Amra network and makes sense for the Scottish agencies to have one point of contact for the whole of Amra's portfolio, not just the S&UN titles."
