True North has appointed Claire Rigby, whose previous agencies include Lowe and BBH, as its new strategic development director.

The arrival of Rigby builds on recent growth for the Manchester design agency, following wins from The Climate Group, Royal Mail, Cape PLC and People’s History Museum. Her remit at True North is to 'embrace both new business and the development of the agency’s strategic and commercial offering'.

Rigby said her experience in account management, where she has worked on blue chip clients, will stand her in good stead. "The experience I have is in marrying innovative strategic insight with creativity to change the fortunes of brands and organisations," she said.

"I really admire True North’s work and am excited about joining such a talented team and helping the agency develop their offering and grow the business," she continued.

Rigby will begin work immediately on brand development of Cape PLC and the Climate Group and on strategic development of Royal Mail internal communications.

True North managing director, Martin Carr, said the agency had been building its strategic offer 'for some time'. He added: "Claire’s arrival cements our ability to really add value to the strategic direction & development of our clients’ business.

"This is a really significant step in the agency’s development and we’re very excited by Claire’s arrival.”
