Scotch whisky The Macallan single Malt has unveiled new £1.3million limited edition packaging project in association with Scots born photographer Rankin.

The bottle design was created in conjunction with Shop Advertising and Macallan’s in-house packaging team based in Edrington’s offices in Glasgow.

Paisley borned photographer Rankin was invited to The Macallan’s Speyside estate to interpret the brand which resulted in a series of 1,000 black and white images.

Each of the limited edition bottled will feature a bespoke label with one of these images and the original Polaroid.

The bottle comes presented in a black leather box, lined with velvet and containing each original Rankin Polaroid.

Ken Grier, director of malts, The Edrington Group, said: “Our partnership with Rankin really is something different and daring for the Scotch whisky sector due to the range of images that will be featured on the bottle labels and we believe that there will be huge demand from consumers wanting to own a Masters of Photography bottle.”
