Turton Middleton delivers The Original London Banger

Norwich-based creative agency, Turton Middleton, has brought to market a new sausage brand aimed specifically at Londoners, The Original London Banger, launched in the capital this week with a £1m communications campaign.

Turton Middleton was briefed to create a brand identity, packaging and advertising campaign for a new meaty sausage, made from British pork and aimed at the London market.

The agency created The Original London Banger brand – focusing on the British origins of the product. The packaging for The Original London Banger features a Union Jack flag and the copy is in Cockney rhyming slang, with the strap-line ‘Well worth a butcher’s!’

The Original London Banger is launched across London this month with advertising in Tube carriages and on escalator panels, and inside London buses.

During British Sausage Week (3 to 9 November), in-store sampling with be held at major supermarkets and at Waterloo station. Also in November, Turton Middleton will launch a website and facebook page for The Original London Banger, complete with a Cockney rhyming slang dictionary, recipes and information on the brand.

The fact that a regional agency based in Norwich was picked to bring a product to Londoners is particularly pleasing.”
