The two-week campaign on Scottish Television includes spots in The X Factor: Results, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and All Star Family Fortunes.

The TV commercial is an innovative collage animation based around the 20-something's lifestyle to reflect Galaxy’s core brand values.

It features a "cool" young man and girl in a busy street scene, at a fashionable bar and at a pool-side party and includes Galaxy’s strapline, “love music”.

It has been created by Atticus Finch and media bought by Mediavest.

Galaxy Scotland launches on-air on Saturday 8 November and is the newest addition to the Galaxy UK network, which includes radio stations in Manchester, Birmingham, Yorkshire and the North East.

Galaxy South Coast launches at the end of November.

In addition, Galaxy Scotland has just announced the presenter line-up for the new station. The radio/TV presenter and comedian Des Clarke will team up with Vanessa Motion to present the weekday breakfast show from 6am to 10am, while Garry Spence will host the weekday drivetime show from 4pm to 7pm.

Global Radio’s director of marketing, Nicola Thomson said: “We are delighted to support the launch of Galaxy Scotland with an above the line campaign, further endorsing Global Radio’s commitment to the Galaxy brand, targeting the 20 – 29 year old audience.”

John Beardsworth, account manager, Mediavest added: “Our aim was to ensure our core audience was introduced to the Galaxy brand and TV allowed us to communicate this message clearly. A heavy-weight STV campaign was secured short term and key programmes such as The X Factor, I'm A Celebrity and Britannia High will ensure maximum coverage against our audience.”
