Glasgow based events and sponsorship management company GMFCO has announced that it has launched an advertising division having taken on three former members of Campbell Russell which closed last month.

Ian Dickson, account director, Hugh Duncan, creative director and Gus McDonald, creative artworker have joined GMFCO bringing with them some of the clients with which they worked at the Campbell Russell.

Gordon Ritchie, director of GMFCO explained to The Drum that the three had been recommended to the agency by a client: “We had been intending to naturally grow, as any company does but because we were given the opportunity and because it had synergy with what we do, it makes sense. The clients that have, we can add value to and if they can add value from a sponsorship or below the line angle then it will all fit together nicely. We never planned to take on four people in a two week period, but so far it has been a great business decision.”

Meanwhile GMFCO has also hired recent graduate Teri Brogan as an account executive to assist on the events and sponsorship side of the business.

GMFCO was behind the recent wavesailing competition, the Tiree Wave Classic and organised sponsorship from organizations such as Event Scotland, Argyle & Bute Council and Boardseeker.com
