The Drum has learned that Sony has tasked Manchester-based Love Creative to create the international launch campaign for Playstation’s PSP 3000 product ahead of the Christmas push.

It is thought that the agency is to create a 90-second TV advert while it will also handle the accompanying press, online, outdoor and in-store work for the campaign, which will launch later in the year.

The agency has also confirmed that its well publicised plan to launch a new venture, TwoDays, will no longer happen. It was thought that Love was creating a vehicle for Jonathan Rigby, who is no longer at the agency, which would launch this month. That is no longer the case.

Alistair Sim, managing director of Love, confirmed: “TwoDays is an idea that we have killed off due to bad timing. Love has a number of new business ventures we want to pursue and this is not one of them.”

TwoDays was explained in Rigby’s blog following initial reports about the venture as being an agency for freelancers. He said: “There are lots of very experienced and talented people around who could add real value to creative agencies and marketing departments but who don’t want to work for one company 100% of the time. Most of them are too expensive to hire full time anyway, so we thought, why not make it possible to hire these people as a plug-in to your business by the hour or by the day?”

Rigby was unavailable to comment on this new development at the time of writing.
