Glasgow-based agency Merle has joined forces with specialist brand naming consultant Caroline Stuart, formerly of Interbrand.

During her time at Interbrand, Stuart created brand names including Fruit Shoot for Britvic, Niquitin for Glaxo and Taste the difference for Sainsbury's. She has also worked with major multinationals including Guinness, Bacardi, Ford and Cadbury's.

John Morgan, chief executive of Merle, said: “Caroline's experience is probably unique in Scotland. Brand naming is a complex and remarkably scientific process.

“Bringing Caroline on board means we can add world-class naming skills to the services we already offer as part of the journey of brand development.”

Stuart added: “Merle's brand strategy strengths fit extremely well with what I do. Few agencies outside London handle sizeable national brands, and Merle has several on its client list.”

Merle's clients include Highland Spring, Dobbies and Robert Wiseman Dairies.
