Scottish Development International (SDI) has appointed Edinburgh based agencies Rapp and The Union to work on its marketing.

Rapp - which recently rebranded from Wavv Rapp Collins - will create the global direct marketing work while the Union will handle its above the line advertising account.

The above the line account was won following a competitive pitch against two other government roster agencies while the DM appointment also followed a competitive pitch process.

SDI is looking to attract inward investors to Scotland and aid Scottish companies to find work in international markets.

Following its appointment, Rapp will develop two levels of activity, campaigns aimed at the overall global prospect database as well as campaigns aimed specifically at ‘high impact’ prospects.

Meanwhile, The Union will create press and online campaigns targeting North America, Europe and potentially Asia Pacific to create leads for the SDI sales team. The agency will also create a campaign to build awareness of SDI’s services within the Scottish business community.

This work was previously handled under the Business Gateway brand.

The campaign will run in Scottish business press and selected online sites.

MediaCom Scotland has been tasked with managing the media planning and buying.
