Robson Brown has made use of new technology at Newcastle-based production house Mere Mortals to produce three idents for bed specialist Dreams.

The idents, produced with the Autodesk Smoke system, are rolling out nationally on 60 Minute Makover and Night Time on ITV, and Ghosthunting on ITV2.

Mere Mortals is the only post production house between Leeds and Glasgow to have the latest Autodesk Smoke facility, a high end video editing and finishing tool.

Dave McPhee, head of post production at Mere Mortals, said: “We knew there was a real need for high end film and television facilities in the north east, and our recent kit has been very well received by our clients and has already started to attract new agency briefs through the door.

“The choice for advertisers has been either to use standard editing tools and services such as Final Cut Pro or Avid, or to travel to Manchester, Leeds or London to use better equipped editing suites.”

Steve Hunneysett, head of film and video at Robson Brown, added: “Work previously edited outside the region can now be post produced on our doorstep to the very high standards expected of the national TV networks.”
