BMI makes senior sales and marketing appointments

BMI has announced three new appointments within its mainline division including a sales and marketing director.

Katherine Gershon, who has been working at the company as interim marketing director will join permanently in the expanded role of sales and marketing director.

Gershon will report to the mainline managing director Peter Spencer and be responsible for the marketing worldwide online sales, loyalty including Diamond Club and Company rewards, partnerships, e-commerce and UK sales.

Meanwhile joining as head of online is Tamarah Khatib, who has already been involved in the re-launch of the company’s website. The role will cover all aspects of online marketing worldwide.

Finally, Martyn Bridger, currently interim commercial direct has been given the role of commercial and service director, also reporting into Spencer.

Bridger will be responsible for revenue management, overseas sales, distribution, customer service (customer relations and contact centre) and service development including catering. He will also undertake a review of the quality of bmi service across the airline in terms of products and people to bring about any necessary changes to drive the airline forward.

All appointments have been made with immediate effect.
