Glengoyne Distillery has announced that it is to develop its website having appointed Mackerel Media to improve its online visibility in order to attract new customers and increase sales from the online shop.

Mackerel Media will work alongside the client’s existing web developer, Greenparka to implement an online marketing strategy to develop the site which will include detailed research of online customer search patterns, organic SEO and web analytics.

The agency will also develop the blog strategy to allow the client to interact and engage with its customers.

The newly launched site includes user generated content opportunities for visitors to upload their own YouTube videos, post their own tasting notes and ‘Ask the Distillery’ any elusive whisky questions they have always wanted to find out.

Iain Weir, Marketing Director for Ian Macleod Distillers, brand owner of Glengoyne commented: “Our website is very much the shop window for Glengoyne and often the first reference point for customers looking to learn more about our whisky. While our redeveloped site simplifies customer navigation and introduces new services, research from Mackerel Media has found glengoyne.com has a relatively low profile online and may be overlooked by whisky enthusiasts unfamiliar with our brand.

“By implementing an online marketing strategy, we have a fantastic opportunity to utilise the internet to increase brand visibility and awareness, introducing Glengoyne to new customers in the UK and beyond.”
