Following the news that Global Radio is to rebrand XFM Scotland as Galaxy Scotland, the announcement has been made that Cheryl Levington, former head of GCap sales in the regions is to become its launch director.

Meanwhile, Kiron Willacy has been appointed to the newly created role of station and sales director For North West, heading up Galaxy 102 and XFM Manchester.

She will be tasked with selling Global Radio's national and local propositions to media agencies in the North West.

Levington joins the station having left North West to take on the newly created role where she will set up a regional sales operation for Global Radio and its brands similar to the North West one.

As a result, the sales team across both regions will be merged meaning that a small number of redundancies will be made over the next four weeks. It is understood that the company will also review the situation in Glasgow, but as yet it is not clear what will that means.

Ashley Tabor, chief executive of GCap Media has said that the integration of all commercial operations is expected to be completed by 1 November.
