Patrick Baglee has joined Navyblue as its director of creative strategy.

Baglee, who is currently working with EHS Brann as its executive creative director will begin his new role in October.

He joins as the company continues to build its creative team, as previously reported in The Drum although he will continue to be based in London where he will link up with the agency's brand ignition team.

Phil Jones, chairman of Navyblue, told The Drum; " "I was a visiting lecturer at Manchester University when Patrick Baglee was a student there. I owned a typesetting business called APT and did a talk to 200 students about great typography in award winning projects. Patrick's dad was a fellow compositor and we had a lot in common. Patrick edited a University Alumni magazine - Arnos - that kept students in touch with each other when they left and he kindly included me on the mailing list. We kept in touch and I invited him to join me on the committee of The Typographic Circle when I became chairman. He was so passionate, knowledgeable and committed that he ended up succeeding me as Chairman. I have a sneaky feeling he might be planning the same manoeuvre on me at Navyblue."
