MediaCom Scotland has taken on two new senior members of staff. The additions to the team have been working in the Edinburgh office in the lead up to the expansion of MediaCom Scotland, its second office which opened in Dublin last week.

IIana Goren has joined as digital account manager and Jenny Wallace as account manager.

The hirings follow the news that Euan Jarvie, MediaCom Scotland’s managing director is to oversee the growth of the WPP’s new Irish media agency, Mediacom Dublin and aims to reach £50million in billings in the next two years. Jarvie aims to bring the company’s turnover to £150 million by 2011.

Jarvie, who will also continue to oversee the running of MediaCom Edinburgh, has spent the last three months building its presence in Ireland having set up a new office in Dublin.

MediaCom Dublin currently employs 11 members of staff, which will grow over the coming months until a management team takes charge.

Jarvie said the aim of the expansion is to allow the agency to win more business from multinational firms that often overlook Scotland, yet have separate ad budgets for Ireland.

Mediacom Dublin has already picked up clients from MediaCom Ireland including Nokia, Dell, RBS, Sky and Muller. It is thought a fall out between Mediacom Ireland and WPP has forced the creation of a new business. This follows news that WPP's Irish advertising business, Grey Helme which had a media agency element has ceased trading having moved into voluntary liquidation. From Grey Helme, MediaCom Dublin has picked up its blue chip client list.

It has been reported that Grey Helme employs 15 members of staff and that it will be wound up by the end of the month.
