McCann Hoover up pan-European floorcare win

McCann Erickson has been appointed by Hoover to produce a pan-European campaign for its floorcare products.

McCann Erickson Communications House (MECH) in Manchester led the group's pitch against two rival networks and will now work alongside its sister offices in France and Italy on the Autumn activity.

The account, believed to carry a seven-figure spend, follows the Prestbury-based agency's appointment last month as lead agency for InterContinental Hotels, handling the account across Europe, The Middle East and Africa.

Sue Little, chief executive at McCann's Manchester office, said: “We are tremendously excited to have secured the opportunity to work with an iconic brand such as Hoover. This represents a great win for the agency and is yet another demonstration of our ability to win European business.”

Meanwhile, the agency has launched a specialist business-to-business operation to build on its existing work in the sector with clients such as UPS, Sage, Brother UK, and Business Link North West.
