Steven Thomas has been promoted to head of classified advertising at The Scotsman Publications Limited.

He will also deputise for Richard Bogie, group advertising director, across other commercial functions.

Thomas, who started at TSPL in a display sales role before moving to Medialink, returned to the company in 2004 to run agency sales before being promoted to his current role as general sales manager in 2006.

He replaces Caroline Blyth who is leaving to run her own training business.

Meanwhile, The Scotsman and Edinburgh Festivals are joining forces to cross promote the official daily listings guides.
