Victor Brierley, director of design agency, The Hub has left the company without a job to go to.

It is thought that the decision was taken by David Clelland, managing director of The Hub following a review of the agency’s future business strategy.

It is also believed that the two held differing views on how the agency should progress, but that the decision is amicable between the two.

Brierley said: “In the two years I’ve been there we’ve turned the consultancy round with top-ten placings, awards-nominations, high-profile events and speakers, been on the telly, radio and in press, new and mega clients in the door, but it’s different strokes for different folks! Things change!

“David and I are really good chums and my exact role is something we’ve been discussing for ages. I’ll be in there on-and-off, but it’s just time to move on from working there full time. I’ll be doing stuff with Hub on an ad-hoc basis, in the future but there are other consultancy roles I’ve been asked to do. It’s a sign of getting older!”

Brierley, who has worked at many of Scotland’s top design agencies, joined The Hub in April 2006 from Citigate Smarts, which he left in July 2005.

Said Celland: “The Consultancy’s achieved a great deal in the last couple of years but one thing is for sure, nothing stands still.

Clelland continued: “Victor and I are good friends and his role is something we talked about on and off for some time.

“We’ll continue to work together but more on an ad-hoc basis rather than full-time.”
