McCann Erickson Communications House, Manchester, has been appointed to handle the £10m EMEA regional ad business for IHG.

Work on the account will begin in August and will focus on the group's core brands - Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Crowne Plaza. The figure quoted is separate from its media account, which will continue to be handled by Carat.

The Prestbury-based agency will access local agency resources in key IHG markets and will be supported by a team in its London-based sister agency.

MECH chief executive Sue Little, said: “This win represents a major achievement for the agency and illustrates the scale and capability of the expertise available at Bonis Hall. I am delighted that we have been appointed to handle such a prestigious brief which represents a key addition to our growing international portfolio. IHG was looking for a truly integrated approach and the expertise we have at Bonis Hall is in a unique position to deliver against this requirement.”

William Morris, IHG’s senior vice president, sales & marketing EMEA, said: “IHG has some of the World’s greatest hotel brands; the McCann Erickson team demonstrated a clear understanding of our brands – and offered strong creative execution that will help us deliver our aggressive targets for this year and beyond.”
