Smarts has been appointed by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to handle its Scottish PR campaign.

The RCIS has appointed three agencies across its 12 UK regions, with Golley Slater handling PR for all nine regions in England and Wales, while JPR has been retained in Northern Ireland.

The three year appointment will focus on key UK policy initiatives, marketing programmes and local service initiatives offered by RICS UK. The three consultancies beat off a highly competitive field of regional and national agencies to secure the accounts.

Smarts takes up the helm in Scotland following the delivery of RICS’ media academy and a long standing relationship with RICS in the regions. Golley Slater becomes RICS’s first agency to provide PR across two national associations (England and Wales), whilst JPR maintains its fifteen year support of RICS Northern Ireland.

Graeme Hartley, RICS Scotland director, said: “The Home Report is being introduced in Scotland in December 2008 so it will be a big year for property in Scotland and we will require support to deliver a comprehensive awareness campaign.”
