National Galleries scoops second Grand Prix at Scottish Design Awards

Last Friday saw this year’s Scottish Design Awards handed out, with National Galleries of Scotland picking up its second Grand Prix prize in May.

Having already picked up the Grand Prix at this year’s Roses Advertising Awards, the National Galleries of Scotland’s Warhol Soup Cans wowed the Design awards judges as well, also taking the Exhibition/Point of Sale award on the night.

While Elmwood’s work for Radium picked up an award for Stationary, the agency’s Graeme Cook won the Emerging Designer of the Year prize.

Navyblue won several awards over the course of the evening, including Design Team of the Year. The agency was also the winner of the Annual Report award for ‘Purpose’ for the Royal Opera House, Direct Mail for its Frances Richardson exhibition invitation and an award for Promotional Literature for another Corn Exchange show for artist Chong-Bin Park.

One O’Clock Gun was the winner of the Chairman’s Award for 8207 Poster which also won Best Poster too.

Graphical House was the winner of an award in the Publications e.g. Books/magazines category for The Lighthouse’s Scottish Show Publications, while Third Eye Design, picked up the Best Print Award for its Chicago Spire Launch Book which also took a Commendation in the Promotional Literature category.

Various won Best Craft award for client Summerhall’s ‘Cold Cool Warm + Hot’ personal organiser.
