Newcastle-based Different has been reappointed by One NorthEast to handle its marketing programmes for the next three years.

The business is worth £3.7m over the first year and will include developing One NorthEast’s regional image and tourism marketing programmes. Different has been briefed to develop its ‘Passionate people, passionate places’ creative work to further raise the profile of the region in the UK and internationally.

The agency will also develop strategies to support the business objectives of the region and position the north east as a location for innovative companies of all sizes.

As part of the same review, MediaVest has been appointed for media planning and buying and Sunderland-based Press Ahead will support national marketing with regional engagement programmes.

In other news at Different, the agency is behind new packaging for Intersnack’s Penn State pretzels brand, designed to strengthen its appeal to female consumers.

Packaging for the range will feature a predominantly black background, as opposed to the lighter background colour it used previously.

The brand’s ‘Baked to an authentic American recipe’ strapline will be retained across its three flavours, Original Sea Salted, Sour Cream and Chive and Sweet and Spicy Salsa.

The re-launch will be promoted through a sponsorship deal with Sky Movies Drama, sustained consumer activity and press advertising.
