Gordon Ritchie, formerly head of projects at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, has departed from his post.

Ritchie is currently out of the country and is therefore unavailable to comment.

According to the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, its current restructuring follows a wholesale review of all its activities in light of the city’s ambitious new tourism targets to generate one million extra visitors by 2016.

As a result, Tom Rice, previously head of brand at Glasgow City Marketing, has been appointed to the new position of head of marketing.

A spokesperson for the Bureau said: “The combining of the Brand and Projects Marketing strategic business units into one new, single unit streamlines the organisation and provides greater efficiencies.”
