Bigmouthmedia has admitted that it may still look to invest in an advertising agency following its failed, last minute attempt to buy 1576.

Steve Leach, CEO of Bigmouthmedia said that a bid was no longer possible due to the involvement of receivers Grant Thornton at the time.

“It's a great shame to see the company close its doors and I called David Reid as soon as I heard to see what could be done, but unfortunately the receivers had already been called in,” said Leach.

Despite this, Leach maintains that he is still interested in investing in a Scottish agency in the future: "We currently offer full digital marketing services to our 350 plus major-brand clients, but to date have always used partners or outsourced any creative elements. Clearly there is a case for adding such capabilities to the group portfolio.”

Leach continued: "If we were to go down that route, it wouldn't simply be a case of targeting digital agencies. Creative talent would be what we were looking for rather than digital skills.”

However, Leach insisted that the idea was still at a very early stage.

Meanwhile Bigmouthmedia has appointed Isabell Wagner, managing director of Yahoo! Search Marketing, as managing director for Germany.

Wagner will lead the company’s business activities in the German-speaking territories from the start of March.
