Fergus Reid and Susie Fraser have been appointed to the management board as directors of Smarts and have been charged with taking the company forward in Scotland alongside Alexander and finance director, Nicola Moffat.

Lesley Alexander, who has been with the company since it was formed in 1989, commented: “Following the move to rebrand as Smarts, we intend to show sustained growth and focus on our core proposition of PR led communications. We have an excellent reputation for managing and developing people and in client retention. This will be at the heart of the business as we move forward.”

Alexander confirmed that the Smarts team in Edinburgh will continue to share offices with colleagues at The Gate.

Smarts will operate across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Belfast, with the business-to-business division in Manchester becoming known simply as IAS, headed up by Rob Morrice, operating independently within the Media Square Group.
