Following the sad news on Wednesday that BJL co-founder Trevor Lorains had passed away, over 80 people have visited the book of condolence to leave their message.

Lorains, who was aged 56, made a big impact on those who knew him and the reaction to his death is indicative of how well-liked he was in the industry.

He held an active role at BJL despite handing over his MD reigns at the Manchester-based agency to Nicky Unsworth a year ago.

Unsworth paid tribute to Lorains, \"It is hard to over state the influence that Trevor had on the agency during the past two decades. Not only was he instrumental in shaping its character, he also played an enormous part in building it into the thriving business it is today. His wonderful personality, sharp advertising mind and wise counsel drew people to him and won their loyalty. To me he was more than a colleague for over 20 years he was a great friend and mentor. This terrible news has literally stunned the agency into silence.\"

Lorains was a founding partner in the launch of BJL 20 years ago. The other two partners, Michael Barrington and Stephen Johnson, left the agency in an MBO in 2004, but Lorains remained and had until recently held a part-time role.

He is survived by wife Annette and two daughters, Nicki and Claire.
