Daniel Clare, the former MD of Union Direct, is to head up Open Glasgow which officially launched last week.

Clare, has an equal share of the business with Liz O’Connor, who was one of the founders of The Bridge.

The other key shareholder is London-based group All About Brands which has a stake in 11 other marketing services companies; which range from digital agencies to management consultancies.

This says Clare, will allow Open Glasgow to offer clients a fully integrated service from the word go.

Added O’Connor, who is creative director of the agency “What is refreshing is that we are starting off with an integrated proposition, rather than bolting on other disciplines to an existing business. My background is advertising and Daniels is direct marketing, so right away we have very complementary skills.”

The new is currently pitching for new business, but cannot yet report wins. Clare says it is still very early days, “The business will be based in central Glasgow, however, and we are currently looking for an office. Despite this we have already been involved with two tenders. And although we are part-owned by All About Brands there are no restriction of where we can do business – so we will be looking to places like Ireland, the English regions as well as Scotland.”
