Here at Momentum, we were surprised by the content of your article ‘Leaving the Arc’ (30.07.07). There is an important inaccuracy included here, which I am writing to correct.

In the context of commenting on global agencies being unable to face the local market conditions, one of your contributors asserts that the agency PDP ‘upped’ and ‘left’ from Scotland.

This is entirely untrue. The agency PDP was purchased by Interpublic Group in 1999 and in 2004 it rebranded to become Momentum.

PDP was already one of the longest established members of the marketing community in Scotland when it was purchased by IPG and it continues to thrive. In fact, in contrast to the thrust of your article, Momentum has grown, by over 50 percent in the last three years. No mean feat for a mature and established agency we think you’ll agree.
