TH_NK has been identified as the world’s fastest growing media and entertainment company across the technology-related industries, despite recently being forced to cut staff as a consequence of the Northern Rock debacle.

The award was presented as part of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA awards - a ranking system for the technology industry. In addition to the sector gong TH_NK was voted number 27 in the overall category, which included businesses from 21 countries.

As the digital agency for Northern Rock, TH_NK managing director Tarek Nseir has stepped forward to clarify recent speculation over staff cut-backs.

“Following the Northern Rock situation, the board took the decision to make six redundancies to manage our risk. This was as a result of a downturn in revenue from the bank.

“Since then, we have recruited three new staff and are currently on the look out for a further two. These are due to new business wins and succession changes within the business.”

While Nseir wouldn’t be drawn on the identity of the clients, he revealed that one of the accounts was within the financial services sector.
