Following a three-way pitch, self-tan brand Fake Bake has appointed TBWA\\Manchester to handle its £1million account.

The appointment marks the first time the firm has employed a retained agency and will require TBWA\\Manchester to develop a campaign that will see the brand relaunched through a new communications strategy. Rolling out early next year across the U.K. and potentially Europe, the work is expected to comprise TV, press and packaging redesign.

Fake Bake currently retails in salons nationwide, premium department stores such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods and is headed up by self-made business entrepreneur, Sandra McClumpha, who owns the rights for the brand globally.

McClumpha said: “Our decision to appoint an agency was bourne from the desire for the brand to be at the very forefront of consumers’ minds and unveil recognition of its fabulous formulation and results.”
