The soon to be launched Liverpool speech radio station, City Talk, has announced its appointment of Gill Taylor as head of sales.

Taylor arrives from Warrington-based Wire FM, where she was sales manager, with her new position taking effect from November 14. City Talk, part of the Emap stable of radio stations, is due to launch in January next year.

Taylor will be responsible for managing the new commercial sales team at the station’s iconic Radio City Tower base in Liverpool, and will report to commercial director Mike Sarath.

Commenting on her appointment, Taylor said: “It is exciting to get involved with a new radio station, especially one with such a unique concept. The advertising solutions City Talk can offer are extremely attractive to businesses and offer good value.

“As consumers become more media and advertising savvy, it is important to be forward thinking and to offer advertising alternatives to standard 30 second adverts, the CSR approach is very unique on a regional level and something I look forward to working on.\"

The Drum reported details of the station\'s launch line-up and marketing plans last month.
