Digital marketing agency Amaze is believed to be on the verge of acquisition by Hasgrove, despite Amaze reputedly going into administration this week.

While both parties are yet to reveal details of the circumstances, it has been reported that Cheshire-based Amaze has made 70 redundancies, with CEO Stuart Melhuish understood to have departed.

The Drum has been aware of Hasgrove’s long-standing intent to procure Amaze and now understands that the circumstances which reputedly saw the agency’s directors approach insolvency practitioners Begbies Traynor, has not killed the deal.

In September, Hasgrove expanded its digital offering by acquiring Pavilion Communication and Odyssey Interactive.
