PWLC co-founder to launch phoenix
Speculation is mounting that John Longworth, the 'L' of the now defunct PWLC, is on the verge of starting a new agency.
Longworth is understood to be launching the operation with former McCann Erickson Communications House (Manchester) creative Dave George and the business is expected to be based in Yorkshire.
Longworth was the last remaining founder at PWLC after Mike Phillipson had left to become MD at Propaganda and joint CDs Rick Ward and Pete Camponi had decided to go freelance, before later joining Gratterpalm. The firm hit trouble when flagship client DFS reviewed its advertising account out of the agency.
