The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales is hitting the cinemas in a bid to target students for its accountancy course.

Leicester-based Big Communications has produced four 15-second virals to support the organisation’s student cinema advertising campaign. The agency tasked promising duo Tom Shrapnel and Rory Lowe, the winners of last year’s Gate Films Director 2006 competition, to direct the films.

Inga Morris, account director at Big Communications, said: “We are trying to get across to students that if you want to get ahead in business it’s vital to speak the right language, which is the language of finance.”

According to a recent study, over 85 per cent of FTSE 100 companies had a board member with an ICAEW qualification.

The virals follow the ICAEW’s national press advertising campaign launched by Big Communications earlier in the year, under the straplines ‘A Cut Above’ and ‘A Competitive Advantage’, aimed at businesses.
