Big Communications has promoted copywriter Craig Buzzel to the role of creative director, with management responsibility for a 15-strong team.

The 32-year-old joined Big in 1997 as a junior copywriter, and scooped his first two awards in 1999 for campaigns for IT IS and Howes Percival.

It was in joining creative forces in 2000 with senior art director Richard Davies that the accolades really began to arrive for Buzzel though, with the pair winning around 100 awards split between Cream, Fresh and The Roses.

Buzzel wasn’t available for comment at the time of going to print, but his creative partner, Richard Davies, said: “He’s just a good bloke to work with.”

Mark Firth and Dylan Bogg, the founding partners who had previously held joint creative director roles have taken on executive creative director positions.
