Following the announcement that Wilmslow-based agency Pavilion and Altrincham-based intranet specialist Odyssey Interactive have been acquired by Hasgrove, the marketing and communications group has announced plans to move its north west agencies to the outskirts of the city.

The move is expected to see Connectpoint and possibly The Chase, the group’s two city centre-based agencies, join Pavilion and Odyssey in moving to a combined office outside of Manchester. The group is currently viewing different properties, with a view to moving in 2008.

Rod Hyde, CEO of Hasgrove, told The Drum: “We will be moving the majority of the company to an office on the outskirts of the city. What we’re not going to do, however, is destroy what makes each company special. The companies are all special in different ways but at the same time, they can benefit from being in the same place.”

Hasgrove completed the £9.9million acquisition of Pavilion at the end of September, along with a £3.7million deal to acquire Odyssey.

Pavilion offers a range of ofline and online marketing services for clients such that include ODEON Cinemas, the Co-Op, Siemens Enterprise Communications and the Learning & Skills Council. Meanwhile, Odyssey provides intranet solutions, based on its own product Interact. Its clients include the NHS, Chelsea FC, HMV and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Plans for the new agencies include pan-European expansion. Hyde said the group aims to open a Belgium presence for Pavilion “sooner rather than later,” while Odyssey has already started working with Interel – Hasgrove’s Brussels-based PR and public affairs agency.

Meanwhile Rob McLoughlin is leaving Hasgrove in December to concentrate on a series of new business and media projects. He will continue to advise the group on its acquisition activity.
