Following the news that David Huckell is set to leave Hookson to join Nevis, Hookson has announced that Malcolm Thomson has been appointed as its new creative director.

Thomson has previously worked at Tayburn, Navyblue, Faulds, 1576 and latterly, Navigator as an art director.

He is the final appointment in the new look creative team which has seem Mitra Abrahams join from Barkers, Scott MacMichael from 1576, Karen O’Callaghan from Family and Andy Stewart, a recent graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone.

Bryan Hook, managing director of Hookson explained: “We’re bringing in people that can help the agency move towards integration, as that’s where we’re going – integration and big ideas. A lot of our clients now require above and below-the-line materials, as a result we’re now involved in advertising, we’re involved in online and we’re involved in print material. We’ve refocused ourselves to reflect that, which is why we have restructured and recruited Malcolm to join us.”

Thomson begins the role a week on Monday, while Huckell will move to Nevis at the beginning of next week. Hook also said that the whole restructure has taken around six months to complete.
