Brown takes national treasurer role at PR Institute

John Brown, former head of public relations and PR for Glasgow City Council has been nominated treasurer of the CIPR for 2008.

January next year will see Brown take over the position from the current treasurer Kevin Taylor, who will become president elect to CIPR President 2008, Elizabeth Lewis-Jones.

Brown previously served as chair of the CIPR Scotland committee in 2004/05.

Brown said of his nomination: “I am delighted to be elected treasurer for next year as the CIPR celebrates its 60th birthday. This will be a big year for the CIPR and I look forward to ensuring that it continues to lead the profession, increase its membership and member services, and be a strong voice for the public relations profession – demonstrating the contribution PR makes to business and society.”
